Sound may be the last thing you hear at night as well when you listen to your heartbeat and drift gradually into the soundless world of sleep.

World music day, Popularly known as Fête de la Musique ( Celebration) or Make music day is Celebrated all around the globe on June 21. More than 120 Countries engage with the World music day. In this day all the Artist & Musician’s are encouraged to come out in Public ares like Park, Stadiums & play their instruments. With the Pandemic, Most of the celebration are done Virtually now. With it’s growing popularity from time, World music day has become a Global event today.

World Music day is recognized to encourage upcoming Musicians & Artists to perform their Genre of music. It is more like people playing their instruments for Relaxation & for the Joy. Music is an integral part of our lives, Music is undoubtedly the essence of life. It is a way of expressing your emotions and feelings when you fall short of words.

A Brief History Of World Music Day.

World Music day was first observed in Paris France in 1982. Jack Lang & Mourice Fleuret were the two people who made the World music day Popular across the globe. Flueret is a french musician, Journalist & Music composer who initiated and Organized this day music & Its lovers. He encouraged both Professionals & Amateurs to come out and play their instrument’s on the streets .This become popular through time and made an impact world wide. This day is now being celebrated world wide & musicians are encouraged to conduct shows & concerts on the streets for free. In October of 1981, Jack Lang, Minister of Culture of France, appointed Maurice Fleuret as Director of Music and Dance, and the two conceived a plan to bring out musicians on the streets to play together. And so on June 21, 1982, the first Fête de la Musique took place in Paris, with thousands of citizens across France coming out to play.

Quite interesting to hear that This decision was made with the understanding that one in two children in France played Musical instruments.

Soon after France made an impact on this festival, Other countries like China, India, Malaysia, Greece, Mexico,Japan & the Unites States followed the suit. Every year on this day, Free concerts are conducted all across the globe to make Music accessible to all. Performers donate their time to make the day memorable.
